Overview:

This product allows you to control how thread redirects are defined by your moderating staff. You may select certain forums in which moved threads will have no redirects, and you can choose the default values that will be present on the move thread form, and choose which usergroups/users can change these values when filling out the form. This way you can ensure redirects are done in a consistent manner by all of your moderating staff.

You can also define forums in which threads to be moved will have a default destination forum, even set the form to be auto-submitted, where the page title indicates to the moderator that the thread is being auto-moved and to which forum.

Updates:

Version 1.1:
  • Added setting for the definition of default source/destination forumid pairs.

Version 1.2:
  • Changed default source/destination pairs to source/destination/auto-move triplets.

Version 1.2.1:
  • Fixed potential issue with post previews.

Compatibility:

Tested and working on VB 4.2.x and may work on all 4.x versions of vBulletin.

Very useful, I even edited template for moving threads, so I don't have to manually disable redirecting threads. But, this solves it.

How this auto moving work if we use it? All threads created in source forum automatically are moved to destination forum? So source forum can't have threads?

Sorry, can't understand what it actually does.

My apologies for not explaining it more clearly.

Suppose you have the source forum with forumid 5 set to have the default destination forum with forumid 10, with auto-move turned on, that is you have as one of your defined triplets:

5,10,1

Now, when an admin/mod moves any threads in the source forum, they will automatically be moved to the destination forum, and the page title informs the thread mover of what's going on when the move thread form briefly appears. The form is auto-submitted.

So, this auto-move only affects threads that are being moved, otherwise the threads stay where they were posted.

If you wish simply for the destination forum to show up pre-selected on the move thread form, but you wish for your moderating staff to have the ability to change that, then set auto-move to 0, that is use the triplet:

5,10,0

Thanks, this is more logical than how I saw it in my head. Who knows what I was thinking (and if I was thinking at all).
