Image Attachment Issue
Hello,
Am using vB v4.2.1. When I try to attach an image in a post, the image gets added inside the post AND as "Attached Images". Refer screen shot as indicated by red arrow. Attachment 154376 This is what I do: -Go to "Advanced Reply" -Click "Manage Attachments" and upload the required image file. -Image name appears -"Purple-Flower.jpg" below "Manage Attachments" button -click the "Attachments" icon in the editor tool (refer screen shot) Attachment 154377 and select "Purple-Flower.jpg" to include the image inside the post. -Click "Submit Reply" button and now the image is seen in both the places - inside the post as well as "Attached Images" with its name below the post. How do I fix this such that when I attach the image inside the post it is seen only inside the post and not as "Attached Images". Thanks in advance. |

The easiest way I have found to display attached images inline is to click the "Insert Image" button:
And then use the pop-up dialog to browse your local media to select and upload the image(s). |

Exactly as Mark says, that's the way to upload attach images.
See also in settings: Message Attachment Options -> Advanced Insert Image Popup - Enable (this must be to ON) it is at the end off settings. The way you describe is to upload files zip, rar, etc |

Hello Stratis,
yes i have this below setting enabled in AdminCP Message Attachment Options -> Advanced Insert Image Popup - Enable. Hello MarkFL, Am having the issue even if I use "Insert Image" icon to attach images within a post. This is what I did: -Clicked "Insert Image" icon in editor tool, selected and uploaded an image file - Minion.jpg Attachment 154383 -Image is now seen inside the post. Attachment 154384 -Clicked "Submit Reply" -Now am seeing the attached image inside the post as well as "Attached Images" with the file name - Minion.jpg. Attachment 154385 Ideally when I do the above it should include ONLY within the post and should not show "Attached Images" and the file name. How to fix this? |

Try doing it using the standard editor, instead of the WYSIWYG editor. Does it still do the same thing?

Awesome MarkFL, yes that helped me resolve the issue.
I edited the setting Message Posting Interface Option > Enable Clickable Message Formatting controls > Full Editor > Enable Standard controls For all the new attachments am uploading, am no longer seeing the issue. Looks good. But issue is seen in the old attachments i.e images uploaded prior to cahnging the above setting. How do I fix the old attachments as well. Thanks. |

Nice, at least a solution for start.
Something else you should see. i assume that your php-sql version does not meet server php-sql version, you must check it. |

Yeah, this is really a problem with Vb4. I have seen this on many sites when uploading multiple images they will display inline if set but also display below. One fix would be to edit the Postbit or Postbit_legacy template.
