Event Registration

Is there a way for create events for which people (they do not need to be a forum member) can sign up for? I'd need to capture some basic data:
-Evente Name/Date
-Name
-Email
-Lunch options

Or would I need to create a custom database table and a custom page/form that would populate the table?
