Why vbulletin 5 has a few modifications?
Hi guys,
I recently (one month ago) upgrade 4 to 5.1.7. I am very worried, because Site visits have dropped sharply. I think vb5 isn't user friendly rather than vb 4. vb 4 has so much modifications such as last threads, chat box, ... whereas vb 5 (vb 5.1.7) has no modifications! Why vbulletin developers don't work on vb5' modifications? with this situations vb5 can't progress!

This has been asked and answered before also many have been told not to go to vb5 but so many never listen

vBulletin removed the plugin system the developers used to eaily create complex modifications, that's pretty much it, read more here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...ugins-or-hooks Vote to bring some form of decent system back here: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-10333 If I were you, depending on traffic and posts etc... would revert to vB4 before it becomes too late HOWEVER that's what I feel you should do based on your feedback above because I feel you won't be happy with vB5 if you were used to vB4 and thought that by upgrading you get the same thing but "better" which sadly is not the case - different is exactly that, different.

Based on feedback and this comments, I'll downgrade to vb 4.

VB5 to VB4 is possible. If your database has value, there are a few who can help get you back on VB4 for a price. Put in a paid request if you are really interested in going back. I have personally made the downgrade from 5 to 4 as an experiment and the result was acceptable however, I am not interested in doing the work involved in the the downgrade.
