Mini Mods - [vBMods] New Private Message

This is a small mod which will show a flashing message icon when members have a new, unread private message.

It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, vbm_private_message.xml and upload the contents of the upload folder to your forum root.


You can edit the options under the settings, [vBMods] New Private Message

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin-mods.co.uk will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

You just rip off this Private Messages vb4 like vBulletin.org with your mod same screen shot and code. You are just using a hook.

While I would like to agree with you, cause I do not care for what the developer does on his site, (redistributing vBulletin mods, without the owners permission) Ozzy had a similar mod, and was accused of the same thing when it was on here.

He quickly debunked the accuser as he did not know what he was talking about.

The coding in this mod is not the same only the image and as far as I know no one has a right to an image as there is no way to know who made it originally

I made this mod long ago. I just never released it as Ozzy released one similar and there was no point in 2 mods that do the same thing. While looking through threads, I seen the template mod you refer to and saved the screenshot. There is nothing wrong with copying an image. If there was, Then everyone would be at fault by quoting images that other people post.

If you are referring to this as the original code: www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=251957 then no, it is not marked as reusable. That is a template mod and this isn't. There are differences in the two.
