Go to AdminCP > Settings > Options > Friendly URLs and make sure you do NOT have Mod Rewirte URLs set. Or make sure you also upload the required .htaccess file from do_not_upload/Rewrite to your site if you are going to use them.

welllllll...so "basic friendly urls" or "standard urls" should be ticked? neither way works. And before I screw up something again....I should copy the contents of the .htaccess files from the cms & blogs folder and paste to .htaccess file in root folder?

sorry...guess I wasn't clear enough....I was referring to the htaccess files that are located in the "do_not_upload" folder....Should I copy the content that is located on these htaccess files that are located in "do_not_upload>rewrite>apache2>cms" & "do_not_upload>rewrite>apache2>blog" folders respectfully and paste into the htaccess file in root? |

You would only use the .htaccess there if you are using Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs.
