Someone please tell me what's going on here?
I have a v4 hosted on a windows server.
If you go to JUST the domain, you get a 404 error page. But if you go to /forum.php you get the vBulletin. What's up with this? |

ALLLLLLL righty then. Here is how I finally solved this.
In my files, the index.php file was renamed, presumably because it's not used apparently for a windows installation. No idea. I bought this pre-installed so have no clue why they renamed it. I rename it back to 'index.php' and all is Joy. You may now return to your regularly scheduled program, and thanks for all who offered assistance. |

?!?!?!?!?!?! and this is WHY I do not EVER use a Windoze server personally on any web site I have
Windows servers technically out of the box are not structured to use PHP willingly, or at least that used to be the case many years ago. There were/are certain "tweaks" one must do in order to allow a Windows server to run PHP. Although they do run PHP just fine with the tweaks and what have you just fine they work better with ASP. Or at least that used to be the case, I have not touched a windows server in YEARS, so they could have made it accept PHP better now for all I know. |

I would never have installed vBulletin on a windows server. This one was already installed when I bought it. First instinct was, to migrate it but held off. Finally took the plunge.

Yeah I would not suggest it personally LOL. I have done that before I've run WAMP off an old WindowsXP box I used to have. And I installed vBulletin and some other things on it and ran them for a little while, but was just too freaked about security, hackers, virus stuff & my ISP shutting it down that I had to take it down eventually.
