Enter key not honored when posting

vBulletin 4.2.2 Patch Level 3. PHP 5.5.9 (Ubuntu). We migrated our server several days ago.

Now, when creating posts, the enter key moves to the next line, and text can be typed -- normal behavior. But, when previewing the post AND posting, the new lines aren't honored. Ideas??

You need to add all fixes check my sig for them or upgrading to 4.2.3 would fix all problems

4.2.2 is not compatible with PHP5.5. You need to upgrade to 4.2.3.

It seems that the return key issue 'self resolved'; at least, it was functioning before I got home this evening. Regardless, I made the 'corrections' in your 4.2.2 fixes link in your signature.

As of this evening, it appears as if all the anomalies have been resolved. We are going to give concideration to either downgrading PHP or upgrading vBulletin to 4.2.3 beta.

That's really strange that the issuer resolved it's self. Yeah IMO it would be best to downgrade your PHP at this time, I am running 5.4.28 with vB 4.2.2 pl2.

Once 4.2.3 is released as stable, then you can update vB and PHP if you wish.

PHP downgrade is not an option, 5.5.9 is the only thing available for Trusty:

I don't want to switch to vBulletin 5.x

Then I would upgrade to 4.2.3, I would not suggest going to vB5.

Upgrade to 4.2.3 beta has been completed. Will be checking things out.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, let us know how things go.

Everything now works as expected. None of the quirks we were experiencing are present. 4.2.3 Beta 3 seems to have fixed the remaining issues.
