I couldn't install it on my vB 3.8.8 forum.

Got this error message:

CompleteVB used to do a dark style similar to the first site you showed
I know they are no longer active on their sales website, so it might be worth searching round the net and see what you can dig up

There's dozens of dark styles for 3.8.x here.
