Search Results
Is there a way to configure vBulletin to have search results list the actual posts instead of the thread? I have several users requesting this function.

Maybe I'm not understanding the question, but if you select the "Search Single Content Type" tab, at the bottom there are radio buttons where you can select whether the results will be threads or individual posts.

Right, but if you click on the link it provides it takes you to the first post of the thread, not the specific post of the keyword search. I'd like the user to be able to click the link and take them to the actual post, be it the first page or the tenth, where ever that post actually is.

I just tested this on a vb4.2.1. I used advanced search, multiple content types, "post", "forum" and searched on "titles only". It listed the exact post of a thread of around 500.
-- just feedback. --------------- Added [DATE]1402804755[/DATE] at [TIME]1402804755[/TIME] --------------- Oops - Okay tested single content type like @kh99 suggested -- I really need to learn how to read. Selected "Post" searched on "titles only" and selected "all forums". Again found exact post. Not the thread. |

It appears that both the custom templates I use don't link properly, but when I use the default vBulletin one it works fine. So now I have something new to troubleshoot. Hmm... Thanks for double checking this.
