Chrome, and firefox have just as many oddities that are niggly as IE does.

Yep.. They all have their little problems but all of them are pretty good today. It's much easier to code for them now, even IE. Styling is not such the pain in the ass it was a few years back.

Just as an example, while working with Iconic, Chrome was doing some really terrible AA on the font lib itself, I had to muck with it a fair amount to get it looking good for chrome and everyone else. Also, chrome was having a bunch of other display issues that neither IE11 or Firefox were.

All the current browsers are coming to terms with CSS2 and the easier adopted CSS3, but using the harder implements of CSS3 (especially canvas) and it gets a bit wonky. Like @Zachery says they all have their issues.
That being said I am glad IE6, IE7, FF3, are dead. I could include a bunch more to the list. Unfortunately, you still have to feature detect. |
