Vbulletin 4 login bug?

Hi all,

I just recently installed vBulletin® Version 4.1.4.

When I login it says:

"Thank you for logging in, xxxxxx"
"Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you."

So when I click on "Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you."
It redirects me to the main page, without showing me as logged in.
So what I do is, I refresh the page and still shows me as not logged in.

It only logs me in when I do not click on the "Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you." link.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

We can't actually test it ourselves without a test account. Try it in a different browser or two.

My members are getting this same issue. Is there a fix for it? We're running on vb4.2.2

If you allow users to login to your site via both http://www.yoursite.com and just yoursite.com, then you MUST have your cookie domain (AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookies and HTTP Header Options > Cookie Domain) set to ".yoursite.com" (no quotes, but note the period at the beginning) or your users will have problems. Also, make sure to tell your users to click the Remember Me button when they login.

Now we can't seem to log back into the admin cp :S

Fixed the cp, but members still get the login problem

Did you tell your members to delete their existing cookies first and then login again?

Or you can change your cookie prefix to a new one..

A few of my members have been having login problems lately also. I've just made the change to the cookie domain and posted a notice to tell my members to clear their cookies. Using a test account everything seems to be working just fine now.

Mine is set like that and I'm still getting HTTP 500 error page. I have to hit refresh to get to the board. I followed the Support Desk of disabling all of the hacks from the previous 3.7.2 software and when it still didn't work, I deleted all of them. I'm still having this problem. I deleted cookies on four different browsers and still have this problem. I even get it when I log into the AdminCP. I have to log in, get the white page, open a different tab, open the site, and click AdminCP to get in.

I'm at my wit's end with this installation...this is death for a message board.

An internal server error is completely different. I'd suggest starting a support ticket and or making your own topic on vBulletin.com/org.
