Default The whole vbSEO thing....

So I know the company/product is dead

but I have 2x installs on both my forums running and working as they should.

Am I silly to stick with it or should I be looking to change things? If so what and how?

Thanks.

I would keep it for now or switch to DBtech version or your urls will be a big pita.

To get out of a first pit and climb to another pit.
Good idea.
Vbseo's history not learned anything.

I agree somewhat but I was determined to remove Vbseo on my site and it cost me big time with many not found urls, etc and this was after creating rewrites to redirect the old urls. Apparently I did not rewrite all of them.

While I do not think any seo script is really needed for url rewrites or anything anymore, if you already have them then your options are either to remove Vbseo totally or move to another option that seems solid for now at least.

If your urls are pretty standard rewrites than removing might not be such an issue but for some that was not the case.

Plus, Vbulletin 4 is pretty much end of life meaning I do not believe there will be many more updates if any unless any vulnerabilities are exposed. So if you have a good updated version of the latest seo script and you plan on sticking with the latest 4.2 Vbulletin you should be ok.

My main reason for wanting to remove Vbseo is due to the conflicts I was having with other mods and the fact that the license was causing me issues at the time. I am glad I removed it and no longer have to rely on any seo script but if you do have to rely on one Dbtech is decent and it imports all the Vbseo settings. Phillip is always pretty helpful as well.
