Source File Forum
I personally think it would be a cool idea for a source file section on the forums, were hackers could post just the source file for new hacks, and then those experienced enough to create their own templates for the source code could. (with possibly an included txt directions for queries when adding tables). This would allow more originality in the template design of hacks, so everyone's hack doesn't look the same.
Just a thought ^_^ |

You mean 'post the instructions on how to modify the vB source', since the vB lisence does not let you post the files anywhere (correct me if I am wrong, please).
I fail to see the point, though. Those experienced enough to make their own templates and stuff can just skip that part of the hack-installation and do as they please... |

I don't mean post the Vbulletin PHP files, I'm talking about the source of the hack php files (for example, if it were a battlesystem hack, battlesystem.php. Or even a txt with the source file inside of it. I don't know, its just a thought. It would just spark more creativity in someone to create their own templates for the hack, that way everyones won't look the same. All I know is they do this release open-source files all the time for C++ applications (thats why I'm used to it), and then people can use those source codes to their benefit (in their own app).

Well, my point still stands. People who have the skill and desire to make it look different can always do so anyways. If the hack/addon is template based, they can merely choose to create the templates themselves.
By leaving out the templates completely you shut out less skilled/experienced people from enjoying the hack alltogheter. |
