Creating global private section
Hi,
I have the following problem : I have a public section, a private section and another private section. They all have their own user group (Public Member , Private Member , Crew Member) Now I added another private section but this can be open for anyone from the board no matter the group they are in. But I can't see how I can allow people from all 3 other sections in my new section and others not. For example, I can't just say that usergroup "public" can enter the section, cause some of public are allowed others are not. The only way I think I can get it fixed is by making 3 seperate new user groups. like : New section public members New section private members New section crew members But this seems rather odd and hard for what I want, so isn't there a easier way to do this ?..... Also is it possible that when I create a new user group, that I base the new one on a existing user group (so it takes all the same settings, and then I just change what applies to the new user group instead of manually setting the permission for all the forums) |

Why is it so hard to get answers here ? Or is this board not as active as I tought ?
I mean on all other boards I'm used to get replies minutes after I post yet here it seems to be days till someone replies if someone replies in the first place.... I'm sure someone has to have faced the same situation... so just a "no you can't do it any other way" or "yes, just do this : ... " will do... Anyway for now I just created 3 user groups... |

just make the forum private, and only allow a certain user group to access it by turning it on
