A lot of my vBulletin pages in Google Analytics (despite the coding being part of vBulletin) do not show the titles of the pages. Instead I get "(not set)" for some of the descriptions. Is there anything I can do or is this common?

you should still be able to view the link in Analytics. Go to the page, inspect the source for a title tag. make sure it is set, and there is only one. It is possible that the analytic code is invoked on a hidden/non-accessible thread to google bots. it will still show hits but there is no way for it to see the thread title if this is the case.

Hmm much of the examples have an = after the link which if you copied and pasted into a browser bring up an error because of the symbol. For example...
