I had been working with Zachary to fix some "user profile" edit-ability function. It was determined that some how the link broke, how I have no idea... he was able to repair the link so that when the member clicks on the drop down at the top right of the screen they can now select "user settings" and access the profile editing page.
However from the profile page, if the "edit settings" button is clicked it still shows the "missing link" message. I am interested in finding out how/where I can access the html so I can A)fix the link and b) change the text on the link button to read (user settings) or something so they match in both locations that let you access this area to cut down on potential member confusion. If I am incorrect and the "edit settings" button should be accessing a different area, please let me know. |

To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. (Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.)

I have no idea what you are looking for specifically, so I'm not sure how to help. If you click the Edit Settings button, it should go to /settings/profile Is it not doing that or what? That looks to be in the widget_profile_sidebar template.

I have created a visual diagram (attached) to hopefully help explain what the problem is, my attempt / idea to fix it... and what information that I need to accomplish the proposed fix.
Thanks Tom |

I hope you don't have to work much longer today, Lynne...
Is there a way to attache a larger image? I was afraid you wouldn't be able to see the diagram, but it was the largest size image the forum allow me to attach. --------------- Added [DATE]1387922918[/DATE] at [TIME]1387922918[/TIME] --------------- Should be able to view and enlarge it on this link/webpage http://www.rideorrot.com/~rideorro/i...on-diagram.jpg |

I can't read that because it seems Unregistered Users can't view images.
You may upload your image to this secure image site - https://tmpdmp.com/ - and then provide me with a link to view it. (I am lucky enough to work my own hours, which means I may not be around too much tomorrow!) |

I already told you how to find the template you need to edit.
