yet another question about classifieds....
I've trolled through a LOT of resources, both on here and elsewhere and haven't found a definitive answer to my questions. I want to implement a Classified section similar to the one here:
http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/classifieds.php I assume the majority of it to be simple enough, with standard markup and CSS, however, the actual form triggered when you post a new ad has functionality that I haven't seen in any of the available mods out there. One being the integration of a Google map based on the zip code, and the drop menu to choose the category in the forum threads to place the actual post. My questions would be, is there a mod, hack or paid product anyone knows of that would make this form easier for me to implement, and is the actual Classified section, as it appears to me, just html/css inserted with links to the threads for each category? I have the ability to work with most of the code, but no background in vBulletin, and was hoping to get some useful feedback from the group here. Ultimately, I believe I can create the necessary PHP template page for the Classifieds, and build it out in HTML, with the category listings, but the form has me stymied. I need that function, and am uncomfortable with trying to integrate anything into a new environment. Any thoughts are and will be greatly appreciated. |

Hey Ozzy, just a quick thanks. I looked through the Forum on DBtech, saw you and others there and read up on the Mod they have working. Going to wait on it and spend time securing the forum we have working now instead of worrying about the classifieds right now.

That sounds like a wise decision.
