Update to 4.2.2 blew up my board AND stopped attachment uploads
I have another thread on all the blew up warnings I got and I managed to get those resolved via a php.ini edit.
This is a DIFFERENT issue that now shows with the v4.2.2 and I've lost the ability to upload an attachment. The attachment is within the KB size limits. The attachment is a "jpg" The attachment is within the pixel size limits. When I click on "upload" it gives me a red icon with and ! in it and the mouse hover says "Upload Failed". Ok, so now what the hell is broken and what do I need to do to get the upload attachments working again on my site. Elmer --------------- Added [DATE]1381361453[/DATE] at [TIME]1381361453[/TIME] --------------- THIS is NOT fixed. I still have this issue on the 4.2.2 update. --------------- Added [DATE]1381361703[/DATE] at [TIME]1381361703[/TIME] --------------- Anything? --------------- Added [DATE]1381362547[/DATE] at [TIME]1381362547[/TIME] --------------- I see it trying to run newattachment.php and it is calling out file names that ARE NOT the names of the file that I am trying to upload. This information is coming from my ISP. Elmer |

The attachment system broke for me when I upgraded to php 5.4 a while back. If you did that upgrade at the same time as the 4.2.2 upgrade, you could try rolling back to php 5.3.

I'm running 5.2.1.7 on php
4.2.1 is looking better all the time. --------------- Added [DATE]1381412078[/DATE] at [TIME]1381412078[/TIME] --------------- I am having a PM conversation with another 4.2.2.victim. He did the same fix in his php.ini and cleared up the warning messages and was happy. I asked him to check his ability to upload and attachment. He is no longer happy. His exact answer was "Damn!" He lost upload attachment ability too. At least I'm not the only person in this sinking boat. To go back to 4.2.1, all I need do is reload those "upload Files" and then run the install program again, correct? Elmer |

4.2.2 does not support php 5.2.1 very well i think and some lower versions of apache from what I can see, I've had to have apache & php upgraded before it got rid of all the errors, now there is just one addon script a gallery that needs a fix but it work so will do for now.
--------------- Added [DATE]1381413143[/DATE] at [TIME]1381413143[/TIME] --------------- O and you cannot go backwards with vb so you would need an old backup to restore vb to 4.2.1 |
