Is this grid layout even possible ? (should have been simple)

I want to change the layout on one of my sites.
And as always since vb4 i run into the issue with the grids

I want a MAIN row
where the latest entry is taking the entire width of the layout.
Then the secound row, contains the sidebar, and all the "older" articles.
The articles are in a 2 column setup, via layout i guess.

Any suggestions on how to preceed?

Grid:

Secondary Header: Yes
Sidebar: Yes
Location: Left
Width: whatever you want
Columns: 1 (100%)

(could also do Sidebar: No and then set the Columns to one of the one with two columns)

Then after you create the layout and apply it, in your section set the columns to 2.

But then i would have to create a new widget to pull the latest article into the secondary header ?

Because my choices in layout is to put the content in either secondary header or the columns.

Oh, I see what you mean. Well, you could add a widget there and have it spit out only the latest article.
