how to accept GIF as avatar?
currently VB is only support JPEG for avatar, but not GIF. However, I saw few ppls on vb.org uses GIF as avatar image. How and where should I mod?

Are you talking about for your own forum? You can enable it in usergroup settings.

Also you should be made aware that animated gifs as avatars will not only increase your page load times they will get quite annoying to some. Same with animated sigs.

I have vb 4.2 and I can not get animated gif. to work as my avatar or profile picture.I have both options enabled in the usergroup settings.Does anyone know how to make this work?

just rename your GIF file into PNG or JPG.

Just an FYI for anyone wondering -- the default image handler for vBulletin doesn't handle animated GIFs well, so if they have to resized to fit the avatar restrictions, they won't work right.
The only real way to get around this is to use imagemagick and/or to load an animated gif under the width/height/size limits. Not sure about profile pics though. Assume they're similar (?) |

You must upload a gif that fits the size you have set.
