How To Remove Something From The Sub Navbar?

I should add why this is so important.....it's a professional medical forum where we need to get immediate answers to questions. The 'chat room' format doesn't fulfill the need and it's dangerous to have members clicking on it and wasting more time.

Edited to add: I added a 'Shout Box' thing that works perfect and everyone uses that to 'chat' and post the questions so others can provide fast answers.
