This should be an easy settings change

Log in to your AdminCP. The go to:

Settings > Options > Forum Listing Display Options.

You should see a setting called 'Depth of Forums - Forum Display'. If you set this to '1' and save it, you should get exactly what you want.

I would bet it's currently set to 2 or higher for you.
