Setting can view board = off leads to ban error
I'm attempting to force users to register on our forum but when I turn off can view board for "Unregistered / Not Logged In" anyone not logged in is greeted with a "You have been banned" message.
How can I get this to properly work and force users to register? |

Check the offline message

It's set like this: "<p>Sorry, the board is unavailable at the moment while we are testing some functionality.</p>
<p>We will be back soon...</p>" |

Edit the "Unregistered / Not Logged In" usergroup, and under Usergroup Options check the value for "This Usergroup is not a 'Banned' Group". If it's set to "no" then you will get a "you have been banned" message instead of "you don't have permission".
