I think your site looks real nice. Very easy to read and is pleasant on the eyes. At least in my opinion. I love the little fish icons that you have pointing to the thread titles. I like the the posters name in color as well. I would like to know how to add the icons and the poster name in color. Real fine job.
The one thing that I would most definitely do away with is this:  The concept is fine. I would do away with the threatening tone. Perhaps say: "after a 176 days we are pleased to see that you are still visiting us! We would love to meet you and would be delighted to assist you in making a post or simply introducing yourself"... Best wishes.
