Diablo 3 Sub Forum with Multiple Parent Forums
Hi, for my newly bought vBulletin website GamesDreams.com, there are some game forums that I would like them to be located under multiple parent forums.
Attachment 138426 For example, I would like to place the "Diablo 3" sub forum under both: - PC Games - Mac Games - etc How can I do that? If this is possible, I would like to avoid using the forum links I'm currently using which doesn't show "last post" and can save me the hassle of creating multiple times for every single game forum. :erm: Attachment 138427 I'm willing to edit the php code as well as the database if anyone has any clues on how to do this. I've looked into phpMyAdmin > forum database, and I've tried to change the both the parentlist and childlist of corresponding forums, i.e.: - PC Games (default root parent forum of Diablo 3) - Diablo 3 (I've modified and added additional Mac forumid under its parentlist) - Mac Games (I've added Diablo3 forumid under its childlist) However, this doesn't seems to work and Diablo 3 game forum didn't appear under Mac Games after I've altered the database (display order doesn't matter). Any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks. |

There is no way I know of to do that. Manually editing the database was interesting, and I don't think it will work, but did you run the counter to update forums after you made the manual edit?
After any such edit of forums you'd need to go to Admin CP -> Maintenance -> General Update Tools -> Rebuild Forum Information. No changes would show until you ran that. |

Since I don't have much expertise in vB, I'm pretty worry everytime I try to modify db and php code as wrong steps may ruin my whole forum.
I've re-modified the childlist and parentlist of both forums plus rebuilt the forum info, but rebuilding forum info (maintenance updates) only revert all the database changes back to original. I've no luck in trying to figure out the solutions. It would be great if someone who has good knowledge in VB is willing to create a mod for single forum with multiple parent forums. |

I think the only way you could do this is by using links, which it seems you have setup already on that site
