Working on yet another theme
There is a lot to do as I'm just getting dug in good.
The question I have is do you think the forum rows color goes with the rest of how it's laid out? The header image is an inside joke and most likely won't stay. http://animeappeal.com/forum.php?styleid=120 |

I've been steady working on this theme and have made a lot of progress. But there is much left to do.
So far so good. What do you think? |

If you want an honest opinion, it doesn't look so good to me. Very hard to navigate and it's not user friendly...
I do however like your main default. |

I didn't make that one. I nabbed it when I was running 4.0.6 from vbulletin.com and have been tweaking it to run on other versions as I upgrade.
Could you elaberate on hard to navigate? Right now all I've done is adjust the size of different sops and add some graphics. It's purely to learn how to do different things to VB. Shoot, it might not even stay after it's done. |

Too much empty space on my right (you should make it for low res as well), you should also go with HQ stock for the BG. The colors aren't good either.
It just doesn't look right to me, why not go for something more 2.0? Since your niche is sorta about anime, it should look good. |

Ok then not to be a butt about it, but why do forums have to be in the center of the screen? Why not dare to do something that's different?
The forum in the center is so ho hum mainstream. The main reason the forum is offset to the left is to show off the catgirl in the background. And yeah yeah I've heard making the background too eye catching is bad. But is it really? I don't think so. The forum set up like that is going to make you stop and look at the overall layout. I mean if you look through the captioned pics I do you'll real quick find out my perspective is somewhat skewed. I try different things. They work, they stay. They don't, they go. As for the quaility of the background image, maybe you're right. It needs to be a higher quaility image. Finding those is hit and miss. I used what I could find. Maybe if I was to run it back through a image manipulator program I could clean it up a bit. I think what really happened to it was the result of being resized and the jpeg quaility being reduced to save server space. As for the rest since the xml download appears to not have saved everything I'm having to go back and do it over in some spots. I'm going to be trying some things this time a bit differently. |
