Is there a way for mods to send mass e-mails without admin permissions? Urgent need..
Hi,
I run an animal rescue forum where users are assigned to usergroups by the county they live in. On our old forum moderators had the ability to e-mail members in specific usergroups, based on counties, to see if they could help with urgent cases. This is extremely important as most members do not log in everyday to see if anything urgent has come up in their area, and there are so many volunteers who reply to these e-mails but don't bother to reply to PMs. We've just moved to our new vBulletin site and I can't see how it's possible for moderators to e-mail member groups without giving them admin permissions to access the entire user section of the admin panel (which we definitely don't want to do). We literally want them to be able to view the 'send email to users' feature and nothing else in the admin panel. The reason we need it? It can genuinely mean the difference between 'life or death' for some of the animals we work with; our organisation helps hundreds of animal rescues, both in the UK and internationally - they send us requests for help and we find and train volunteers to fulfill their needs. A typical, everyday example: a pound contacts us to find rescue placements for dogs at the end of their seven day stay to avoid being pts. We e-mail all the rescue representatives we work with via our forum, then they either e-mail us back or pop on the thread to say whether or not they can help. If we do find a placement we go through the process again and e-mail members en route from the pound to the rescue to coordinate a transport run to get the animal there, then do it again to find people to assess the dog, foster etc, etc. Hopefully that explains a little of why we really need to find a way of doing this. If anyone has any ideas we'd be so grateful! Many thanks, Vicky |
