Looks like people are using HTML instead of BB codes, offhand.

its an automatic script that does the posting...
the weird thing is, its fine to start with... then it goes screwy once the thread is closed |

Very odd. I'm at a loss. Someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

Normally you couldn't post html unless html was allowed for that forum. I don't know why things would change when the thread was closed. Probably we'd need to see how the posting script worked to be able to figure it out.

and now the first post i gave has now got tags in it... weird.
I can quite happily give someone the script to look at if someone was willing to take a look - its a hellova mess though, the people who i bought it from apparently had no idea what they were doing. Strange thing, it was working on their host - just snt on mine. Matt --------------- Added [DATE]1328010115[/DATE] at [TIME]1328010115[/TIME] --------------- found a possible cause, as you said above... the threads are moved to a new forum once complete... i checked and that forum doesent allow HTML. I just change the settings but the threads are still showing with the tags, do I run daily tasks to change that? will the site work it out eventually? --------------- Added [DATE]1328011048[/DATE] at [TIME]1328011048[/TIME] --------------- ok, its fixed.. saying html wasnt enables was the fix for me. I moved all the threads to a dummy forum and then moved them back and everything was fixed! Thanks Matt |

That makes sense, posts are cached but are occasionally rebuilt, so probably you were seeing some cached posts at some point. Anyway, glad you got it worked out.
