Welcome Message Box edit?
Hey all,
I did some searching on how to edit the welcome message and while I did find a couple suggestions none of them seemed to work for me though. I don't know if its a version related thing or what but I did try. In addition I seen some posts suggesting mods, which I do not want to do. I simply want to fix a grammar mistake that came default with either the client or the theme I purchased (I am not sure still kind of new to this). It currently reads: "Also please take a moment and update your with your latest information." Of course I would just like to add the word "profile" above. I am running vB 4.1.0 with the completevb theme Life Element, any help would be appreciated. --------------- Added [DATE]1327604302[/DATE] at [TIME]1327604302[/TIME] --------------- Anyone? |

All text in vb is in 'phrases' to make translating easier. Go to AdminCP>Languages and Phrases>Search phrases for a part of the test and you should find it. Edit it.
PS Don't bump so quick. Three days is reasonable, three hours will just piss people off and won't be effective anyway. |

Videx thanks for the response, I did try this method before posting and could not find the welcome box statement. I have since tried about 20 more times hoping to hit the one word that would link to it but again no luck. I am surprised there isn't a direct method to fix this as it appears to be a very popular issue with people especially when its posting a grammar mistake by default.
Not directed at you Videx but frankly I didn't pay a few hundred dollars to have to wait 3 days for a response. If someone is going to get pissed off at something that simple they shouldn't be offering to help on a forum they should be seeking professional counseling. Anyway thanks again responding. |

Hm. If it's not in phrases it must be hardcoded into a modification? Or maybe a Notice or Announcement? Can you give us a link to it?
I'd hate to think it would be hardcoded into a theme, but yes you have to try the default style and determine if it's there also. |

Videx,
I have since realized that we maybe thinking of two different "Welcome boxes" I did in fact successfully remove what I have learned to be the default one. More specifically I am trying to alter or remove this one. Is this a vBulletin welcome message or should I be contacting the theme owner support? (completevb) As you can see there is a grammar mistake by default... |

I don't know, but as I said the way to find out is to see if it exists in the default style.
But yes, if you paid for it ask them. I see they have a chat, and support forums. |
