IP view vB or Mod?
Hi,
Wondered if anyone can please help me locate where this setting is at? On members profile at the top left corner.... This member has a secondary usergroup. All the members in the secondary group is able to see the IP icon (as shown in the image) and view members IPs. If I remove the member from the secondary usergroup, then the permission is removed. I cannot for the life of me find where I turn it off in either the vB settings page or the usergroup settings so that usergroup cannot view ips. Can anyone shed any light please if you can help me locate where I can remove the permission for this, so the members in this group cannot see IPs. I'm wondering if it was a mod add on which the usergroup IDs was part of some code that was edited into the files/templates , which might explain why I cannot find it? Any help appreciated. thanks |

Are you sure it isn't a modification? The IP image doesn't normally show where you are showing it in the image. Perhaps it is a condition in the template that makes it show?

I'm not totally sure. It must have been a while ago I added it, if it is. I did already check my log of mods that I've added and was unable to spot a culprit. But it might well be a template edit and never kept the actual instructions to refer back to. Can you please help me locate where to look for the code? if I know where to look then I might well be able to locate the usergroup id's via a search. --------------- Added [DATE]1327423498[/DATE] at [TIME]1327423498[/TIME] --------------- Can anyone please help me locate what possible templates / files I need to look in? thanks |

To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. (Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.)
