Can someone help please - Moved server issue
Hi,
I have moved to another server and I changed the details of the config.php to the new database info - but first the database in the cpanel - mysql file size showing 0 (not the upload allowed but the size of the forum database restore file). And have a look at the forum page www.christian-gate.com Regards |

You have a problem in your config.php file. What did you use to edit it? Some programs (like notepad) don't work for editing php scripts.

did you import the old database into the new cPanel?
Create a database, go to phpMyAdmin, select the database, and then click import, browse the file and import it so the new database has all the posts/forums/members etc of the old server. then create a user in the database page, assign the user to the vB database with proper permissions (all), change config.php on new server to reflect the new db and user name and pass. also... download 'Notepad++' to edit your php files in the future. worse case scenario, use notepad, wordpad messes up the encoding. |

Yeah - it's wordpad that causes the problems, not notepad like I mentioned above.

Actually, for the record, notepad screwed some files up on me as well. So now, all I use is notepad++

lol...OK, it's both.
In any case, I'm pretty sure that's part of the OP's problem. |
