I know there must be a hack which allows users (readers) to post a larger bio of themselves and their cars (in this case it is for an automotive related site). Does such an animal exist? It should intigrate well with the "member of the day" hack.

There is a way to do that. However, before telling you how, my predicting mind (apologize in advance if I'm wrong since I can't check for sure, but I'm 99.9% sure I'm correct) will tell you this:
Please go to this page and enter your forums username (Jeff Bronstein) there. You will need to use your customer number and customer password you were supplied when you purchased your vbulletin license. |

You can change max size for bios in modify under custom profile fields located in admin cp. There you can also create new fields such as your "readers ride" section. No hacking needed.
