Slow email notifications
On my forum the email notification is extremely slow. Sometimes it can be hours before a user gets the email stating there is a PM or a reply to a subscribed thread.
Anybody have a clue what I can do about this? |

What do you have for the "Use Mailqueue System" setting (under Email Options)? If you have it set to Yes and your site isn't very busy, that could delay email notifications.

First of all, Thank You for taking the time to help me.
I have turned off the mailqueue setting while trying to figure this out. My site is fairly new and doesn't have a lot of traffic. I have enabled the "F" parameter "whatever that means??" And my hosting is with GoDaddy. Any other tips? I really don't know how to proceed here... |

If you still have one of the delayed emails you could look at the headers and possibly see where it's being delayed.

Not sure where I would go to look for that?
Can you give me a step by step? |

Well, it depends what you use to read your email. You'd have to checl to see if it has a way to view the headers.

Is this what you mean? This message was only delayed about 45 minutes but I have had reports of a few hours.

Yes, that's what I meant. I'm not an expert on these things but, if you look at the info in red and blue below, it kind of looks to me like it took 45 minutes or so to get from server p3nlhg122.shr.prod.phx3.secureserver.net to server p3nlsmtp05.shr.prod.phx3.secureserver.net, then was delivered to you a couple minutes after that. If that's true then I guess the "problem" is with your host (unless it's somehow a "feature" ).
