DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.

Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

group permissions.. try setting it to 20 or 10

Download DELAY: This is the minimum time in seconds that the user must wait between file downloads. Set this to 0 for there to be NO limit. If you set this number too low, your site could be open to a denial-of-service (DoS) attack! If the user is in multiple groups, the HIGHEST value will be the delay setting.

I tried that last night and again just now and our members still have the same problem.

Any other ideas please?

Good catch. The normal BBCode parser doesn't seem to handle that.

In downloads.php
find

Hi,

I do not know if this is the right site to post about this....
I have installed DownloadsII version 6.x
Everything looks fine however I do not know how:
1. Where allow a user to use Downloads
2. Where to modify the default test category:
Test Category This is a test category. You can edit it in your AdminCP.

Hello
Have the DownloadsII 6.0.9. installed on vb 4.1.7. The extensions are registered and I have read here in the thread.
But there are no thumbnails are displayed. Moreover, it only rar and zip for upload.
jpg, png, gif I get an error message, but there is no text to be displayed by what it is. . htaccess is uploaded.
Does anyone have a solution please?
