I received this message:
when trying to view a secondary profile i just created to test this sort of thing. Already made a post with profile when i got this message, filled out some of its profile fields to see if that was the problem and it wasn't. Cause of this? Way to fix? |

It looks like that message is only used when an invalid user is specified in member.php. Are you using member.php?username=somename ? If "somename" is not valid you'll get that message.

will have to double check. this was a username that I had just set up and posted with. I went to the post and clicked on the user (me) and hit 'view public profile'.... and got this error

So it was a valid member specified. I got this message when I clicked on a users first post, happened when i was logged in as that member

Well, OK - that message is the phrase unregistereduser, and it's only used once, in member.php, and that's if the userid parameter passed to it is 0 (or isn't set) *and* the username passed is blank or invalid. So if you're sure the user is valid then it seems like the only other option is that it's not being passed those parameters. You said you clicked on "view public profile", does the url say member.php?u=XXX (with XXX being the user's id)? And also what's your vb version?

What is the URL you are using to access the users profile?
