how do i add custom payment methods?

the title says the most, but i'd like to know how to add other payment methods to the subscribtion menu, i would like a "daopay" system underneath the paypal payment system.
it's pretty hard to describe exactly how i want it to work, but just get me started and i'll do the rest myself. Thank you for reading this.
