IMO no! I would never purchase a vB 4.x publishing suite license just because the 'cms' is included. It's clunky and overrated.
WP is good enough, but sometimes may be difficult to style to look exactly like your forum. I prefer Subdreamer CMS which I have used for my forum at http://jpicforum.info -- From what I understand - SD now supports user login integration with the 4.x series vBulletin. ![]() J. |

Opps, sorry J
![]() and thanks ![]() Yep, comparing the CMS options I do agree the vB CMS is more powerful but vBadvanced is so much easier to manage, the integration is seamless and the plugin is well supported. Brian did a great job creating vBadvanced and hopefully he keeps supporting it. I love his products. If you can do without Blog then vBadvanced is the way to go. You have nothing to lose, and it's free. |

Trust me, if you know what you are doing CMS is great, but you will need a lot of skills to be able to accomplish something like this:
http://www.united-forum.de/news/ http://www.nationofblue.com/ I still think CMS has long ways to go. I bought CMS, but I am not using it because for me it's a lot of work and it's very confusing the whole thing. I hope they make CMS a bit easier to configure. Right now, it will take you a lot of time to configure things and even at that point it may not look like the way you want it to. |

Nothing has changed, except some bug fixes. Theres still 300 queries, no inline moderation tools, no notifications, no content types, no portal page functions, comments are still in the forum, editor workflow is missing, code is SEO suicide, the design is still problematic.
But if you just want to run a few articles, do not have much traffic and do not want your community to submit articles, then its alright. |
