DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.
It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.
Instructions & Support
Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.
Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!
You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).
I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications.
Screenshots & Live demo
At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software.
You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch).
Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.
Changelog (version 6.0.9)
Jelle
Added support for vB 4.1.8 bit processing with 'each' construct (backwards compatible)
Fixed comma listing for vB 4.1.8 (using "old" method)
Older changelogs are included in the zip package.
Help!!! I can't upload large files??
This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.
Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).
Add-ons
There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below.
As several others have indicated, I, too, have the need for allowing each "download" to have multiple "versioned" files. Mine is for software versions, and each update needs to be available so people can select the appropriate version.

I really need a field for "version", that would become part of the browsing listings.
Thanks for the great addon

Of course if I could keep making requests my seconod request would be for another column labeled Machine Type (ya know for software that we could add Windows, Mac, Cisco, Linux, Joomla, vBulletin, etc..)
Just a wish list.. the ability to add versions would be the coolest and then machine type (of course n/a for documents etc.)
Do you have any plans to add this sort of capability in the near future?
I am getting "error 500" only with files that were uploaded. Users can upload without issues but when anyone clicks the download link it's "Internal Server Error 500"
External files that are only linked are fine.
downloads folder is chmodded 777
Any ideas?
using VB 4.1.5 PL1
Lets hope that support comes soon, Last reply by the author here is Aug 15th. :P
Using 4.1.7 pl1 and the above issue is still there, anyone?
Internal Server Error 500
/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=18&act=down&actionhash=13 20263336-c4c234dec9a37c8c5f37e079f52aa723be001d57
cannot be loaded
It was a problem with the files sizes ( need to be in bytes )
But I have another problem.
I followed the instruction and I've uploaded the "downloads" folder in the forum root directory with the index.html in it. I chmod it to 777. Do I need to create any sub-folders? Where exactly the files goes after successful upolad ?
I've uploaded the file but can't find it in my forum directory. I've searched most folders.
Anyone know of an alternate mod for something like this module.
This one is rather buggy and there's little to no support.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks
