Question on language!
Ladies and Gents:
I have a question on language that is my original VN language. It now has the default Vietnamese language for some reason if I logged in or any one logged in, it defaulted to English and ones will see very weird characters. The users then have to swtich back to Vietnamese language. This is very ignoring. I have a test site forum using the same version vBulletin without setting up as Vietnamese language and without that window to switch, but every time the users logged in, it is fine with Vietnamese language setup as default. My question is, what can I change to get rid of that window on the left bottom footer? Any files that you should recommend to look at? I want, of course to have the same as the test site . See attachment: Attachment 133914 Attachment 133913 Your info is greatly appreciated. Victor |

If you only want to show one language, go to Admincp > Languages & Phrases > Language Manager > select every language except what you want to remain and set Allow User Selection to No.

Thanks. I understand what you are saying there, but the vB4 default as ISO-8859-1 character set and I believe I can use Vietnamese language without changing anything as in my test site using VB4. The operating forum is the transfer from vB3.x that has the vietnamese language settup already. When transfering to vB4, it converted the whole thing, erasing the default in vB4. My question is how can I take that off for vB4, restoring to the original vb4 default, using ISO-8859-1 character set? See below for example: 1) language set at test site and there is only one language is English without Vietnamese language. I still can use Vietnamese characters: Attachment 133932 2) Languages set at the current operating site for both English and Vietnamese, but English set at "no default" and Vietnamese set at "default", as shown below: Victor |

If you need to reset the language to default (english), then you may upload your tools.php file (in the do_not_upload directory) into your admincp, point your browser to it, and reupload the language. I would suggest backing up your database prior to doing this in case it isn't what you are asking about.

Thanks. I will do as recommended with backing it up first. I think this will solve my problem hopefully! Victor:up: |
