Default Is there a facebook login addon that doesn't add loading time to the page?

Basically I am looking for a method to give my users a facebook login function, without:
- extra page loading time.
- facebook cookies.
- facebook registering what pages my members visit.

I dont mind if my users have to click twice.

Is that available?

Yes, just enable Facebook Connect. A small button comes up on your forum after that, no extra loading times.

I'm not sure how to explain, but I think I know what you mean.

You need to create an app in facebook and connect that to your Vbulletin. I just followed the steps that were given to me in the manual (Vbulletin.com manual)

If the facebook server is slow, then so is your site because it loads the facebook scripts from the facebook server. As such it adds loading time to your site. And it tracks what your users do.

Yes, Facebook connect is severely slowing my site as well. When I run a speed check, the facebook connect and like button end up making 70-75% of my load time. I need something far faster since this is crippling my site at times. Or is there a way to force those scripts to start running immediately so that they can run while the rest of the page loads?

Just disabled FB connect and dropped load times from 20-50 seconds down to less than 2 seconds. My stats also show that if it weren't for the facebook like button still being up I will have loaded the page in .5 seconds!!!

I don't think I care enough about Facebook connect to be using it if I get that much of a difference in my load times.

Well, the stupid thing about it, is that there is no reason at all to have those scripts active. All it does is track your users browsing behavior, in order for facebook to profile their interests and sell more adds.
Basically, all thats needed is an icon that users can click on, after which they can use facebook login. Why not make the button link to a popup or jquery sliding effect, that has the real facebook login script? That sounds much more logical.
