How do I migrate from one vB 4 to another vB 4??
I know, the tiles aint clear... so here goes:
I have a forum whose version is vB 4.1.5 and I want to migrate it to another forum which is vB 4.1.5 PL1 (migrate, mind you... I wont be upgrading) I am facing loads of problems like DBTech Shoutbox aint showing up, The editors button are gone (but they are still in the folders...), InfoPanels going nuts etc etc... so, I think a simple solution is install a fresh new forum and move all the users, posts and attachments... but the worst thing is that, I cant make it working... installed ImpEx 1.103 (the latest one, forgot the version number ) but getting errors during import (and also dont see any option for importing a vB 4 forum so I selected vB 3)... Can someone help me with this? and show me the correct path... Thanks P.S. You might think whats wrong with the old one?? Well as, I have told you... the templates and everything is messed up and I cant fix it but can get a grip once start from the beginning... |

I don't know much about impex because I've never used it. But, what if you created a new defaule style from the master style, uninstalled all non-vb products and plugins, and performed the vb4.1.5PL1 upgrade? It seems like you should be pretty close to where you want to be.

If you're upgrading, just copy all the new files over and set it to overwrite the existing files and then run the /install/upgrade.php script.
