Firefox 5 Issue With My Site
Can anyone take a look at my site and tell me why Firefox 5 is not working with my site. I have vbadvanced installed as well. I have my forums in tabs using a script. If anyone can give me a clue as to what code needs updated it would be very helpful I have reports that IE 8 is not working with my site as well.
My site is here: www.globalschoolconnect.com |

What do you mean by "not working"?
I see something at that link - no forums though. But, maybe you don't show forums to guests? You need to tell us exactly what we are supposed to notice. The page looks exactly the same to me in firefox, chrome, and safari. |

In Firefox 5 there is a top missing navbar when not logged in and once logged in it was a mess with nothing really showing. Attached are how things should look. Firefox 3.6 works fine...

Attached is a screenshot of ajax tabs that are found on the vba homepage and on the main vb forum. I figured Firefox 5 may not work with these tabs and their code and is causing the site to show blank once logged in?
I'm clueless as to the problem. I have many reports from members that Firefox 5 and IE 8 and above do not work with our site. I have seen this on a laptop that I personally installed Firefox 5 on and saw the missing elements of the site myself. As soon as I downgraded to Firefox 3.6x the site works perfectly again. |

Here is how our site looks in IE once logged in. It has an error message and the site loads blank!

I have a drop menu system coded into my site which had some errors. In Firefox 5 and IE these errors prevented the site below the menu from displaying including the menu as well. However, in Firefox 3.6x the site worked perfectly despite the small unclosed statements in the code of the menu system. The coding errors were pointed out to me and it was a simple fix from there.
As it turns out there are a number of very popular add-ons for vBulletin with a number of similar small coding errors in them. My site kicks back 50 or so errors when testing it's coding out through validation sites. Some of the coding errors are not really errors such as capitalizing statements as opposed to using all lowercase. However, as browsers and html is upgraded actual small coding errors I am sure will show as breaks in our sites. I was surprised to see just how much sloppy coding is being done with the add-ons that get posted here on vborg. |
