In the acp go to users then search for users. At the top of the screen is a list of options. Click on the one that shows new signups. You get a list of the latest signups. Click on the one you want to look at.
Does that work for you?
Sometimes new signups alter their name to be annoying. Sometimes they have something to hide. I would suggest turning off html and bbcodes for registrations.

I have to get to the office so if that doesn't work for you hopefully some one will come along soon to help.
