Multiple languages in same board
Hello all ...
I'm new here & i want to ask a few questions ofcource i searched but i cant find the right answer so... I have a vbulletin 4 forum & we have used 2 languages "Arabic / English" so what i want is : 1- How to hide Arabic forums from English members & keeps English forums to them only also same with arabic users hide english forums from them. 2- How to auto detect language for visitors. My Regards ... |

No, it's probably just that no one has a good answer for you. I suppose you could somehow put members in different user groups depending on their language, then given them viewing access only to the forums of their chosen language. But that wouldn't work for guests.
I believe there is information sent in the request which indicates which language a user has selected in their browser or OS. So it would probaboly be possible to look for that and use it to decide which forums a user is allowed to view (or to set a default when a user is registering). Edit: If you search in the mod titles for "language" you'll find some mods that might help. This one: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=230899 sounds like it does part of what you're asking about. It's for vb3 but there are some posts in the thread about changing it to make it work for vb4. |
