Miscellaneous Hacks - Display Unread Posts

As of 23 Nov 2017 this modification has been withdrawn.

This displays the actual number of posts that are still considered unread by you (and will show up in a 'getnew' search).

There is also an option to put back the members last visit date, which was removed in vb4. There is the choice to count the unread posts since your last visit, or all posts considered unread. This setting reflects where the divider in the 'getnew' search display used to be (apparently its no longer displayed).

There is also the option to disable the unread posts display or the new reputation comments display. New Reputation Comments are shown in the Notifications section.

This modifications settings are located in vBulletin Options > Display Unread Posts[/COLOR].

The unread posts functionality requires that database thread marking is active.
Please be aware that installing this will enable that system (with automatic forum marking).
Forum marking choices are located in vBulletin Options > General Settings > Thread/Forum Read Marking Type

To install this hack unzip the xml file and import it using the ACP Product Manager.

The hook {vb:raw template_hook.header_userinfo} is in header template but the phrase You have No Unread Posts it is not longer clickable like it should be.

Check you dont have customised phrases, dup_no_posts in this case.

Also, remember that only the 'Unread Posts' portion of the phrase is clickable.

No everything is okay with phrases. The script works fine with the default style.
But i have a custom style, that's why i asked for help. Looks like the the page background cover /ovelap the link.

You know some designers only wants to grab money from clients and after this.... poof. No support at all. It is apparently a html issue but i am limited with this. I asked from the designer to add a css or a divider but he refused.

Anyway thank you for the assistance Paul. I wanted so much the module...

That should be fairly straightforward to sort out you know.

I'd create a duplicate of your custom style, make it non-selectable, and have a play about (that way if you mess it up it doesn't matter!).

I did it already and i spend more than 3 days to find out. I give up, to old to pull my hairs with html issues

Paul, I have a problem
The system of new posts has been changed after installed this hack

Before:
When I visit the forum and click on (new posts) I got the new posts from last visit. The thread with new post will be in a (bold) title. and when I close the explorer that mean all thread will mark as a read. so when I visit the forum again and click on (new post) I will get only the new post from last visit. (for example 3 pages)


After Install this hack:
When I click on (new post) I got all post that includes unread posts even it's from 3 or 4 day, and when I close the explorer and open the forum next time I got same threads when I click on new posts some of it was from 5 days. (for example 10 pages)

I uninstalled the hack but still I have same problem
I want to return to the old system.

I re-installed it

It says (you have 28 unread posts from last visit)
but when I click to view these posts, I got 7 pages (unread posts for last 7 days)
But I want to show only the new posts from last visits as it was before I install the hack.

Have the same problem as apn3a, unread posts isn't clickable.

I am using a custom style (Seamus & banner).
