Sidebar left right issue

I'm not sure what html you want me to post so here are a few screenshots.

Here is a grid that I am using as setup in my grid manager



Here is the layout manager showing that grid with the sidebar column on the left



And this is the page that is displayed in my current theme



This is the same page of my site as displayed by another theme



The widgets do not display because I am using custom widget code that is not added to my default theme, but you can clearly see the blank space for the sidebar reserved on the left side of the screen.

Something is wrong with the theme I am using that prevents it from displaying the sidebar on the left, that is what I want to fix.
