DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.
It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.
Instructions & Support
Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.
Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!
You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).
I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications.
Screenshots & Live demo
At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software.
You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch).
Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.
Changelog (version 6.0.9)
Jelle
Added support for vB 4.1.8 bit processing with 'each' construct (backwards compatible)
Fixed comma listing for vB 4.1.8 (using "old" method)
Older changelogs are included in the zip package.
Help!!! I can't upload large files??
This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.
Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).
Add-ons
There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below.
Jelle,
Needed to reload DownloadsII due to upgrading to vB 4.1.5. Quick question: where do I go to "Change the permissions of the downloads directory (inside your forums directory) to make it writable (chmod 777)."
For the life of me, I can't remember how I originally did this. Is it on the ACP? Elsewhere?
The problem occurs every time you need to authenticate. are
blocked. I can not add new files. And I can not download
because you can not just log.
It all happened after upgrading to 4.1.5 vbulletin vbulletin
4.1.5 PL1. I am forced to disable the component. Hoping for a
new update.
Sorry if my English sucks! I'm using google translate.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin without touching any templates. The problem persists.
Try reverting all the templates for DLII. just note any custom coding changes you did.

Thanks for the assist
this is on your server itself, use your FTP client or if you're SSH savvy.
Anybody know of this "vbseo sitemap generator add-on for DownloadsII" hes talking about? I would very much like to have my downloads section added to my sitemap for added search visibility.

i have http://www.paolocervesato.com/test/ test site I use to make the evidence to solve the problems. As you can see I have not modified any templates, but does the same error.
If this has already been answered, i apologize. Just cant bring myself to read through 99 pages to see if it has.
I'm having an issue with error messages. Whenever I upload a file that doesnt meet the criteria i have set up (file size, or even file type) i get the following:
The following errors occurred when this file was submitted:
And thats it. Nothing about file size or file type. I see all of the dl2_ messages in the phrases, including ones that say that it must be a valid extension and such. Just they arent showing up under the errors as they should.
Sorry to repost this, but it seems to have gotten lost in the questions and i would rather not rip into the code looking for the solution. Anyone?

ok, seems that the newreply_error template was changed with 4.1.5. So instead of just doing a "<li>$errormessage</li>", it instead expects the whole $error array, and parses through it.
I ended up hacking the code to work around this, and my errors now show up.
Anyone figure out how to increase the character length of the title?
At the very least this would involve altering the database to increase the size of the title field. There might also be some corresponding changes to the adding and editing of downloads interfaces as well.
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.
If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.
I have the same problem.

On my site it also occurred because previously a direct link to the download buttons url would work but due to now using the security token all those old links are broken and generate your error message.
I don't modified any template.
When upgrading vb from 3.8.x to 4.1.x, after, upgrade Downloads II but i don't modified any template.

The new vb:each method of vB 4.1.5 will be used in the next DLII release.

It's downloads2 instead of downloads (you can see this at the start of the downloads.php code).

Have a look at the last quote/response in https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...69#post2116469
Without the token, people could post download links inside of IMG tags (CSRF issue), but that's only a real problem if you have big downloads combined with download size limitations for usergroups.

I don't understand very well de solution.
I have configured a limit to downloads size for differents usergroups.
Now, I go to reconfigured this limitations for not have downloads size limitations for usergroups and view if the problem is solved.
I view that, the users report to me this problem with security token:
