ANNOYING VB 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 - CKEditor & IE Problems

Hi all,

I have to complain because I am so what of annoyed of this last 2 Vbulletin versiyons, because of thsi totally annoying CK Editort which should be immedeately deleted from any VB codes.

Now, for 2 weeks we tried to renew our forum, which was a SMF forum we had transferred to VBulletin. The only Porblem we always had after updating the 3.x versions where the language packages showed broken turkish characters.

Then stupidly we buyed VB 4.0 version... then updated to 4.0.3. to fix the bugs.

Well then I was so eager to get this CK editor...which is the biggest bug Vbulletin ever had in his codes.

SO DONT update to any version (4.1.4 and higher) with CKeditor. First my programer fixed the IMG poblem for us, created by the CK Editor. We used it like that. Now we had to transfer the whole forum on a new set up 4.1.4 beacuse we wanted finally to get rid of our language character problems we had since we transferred from SMF to Vbulletin.

But when we opened after the transfer to 4.1.4 we were negatively surprised that no one, any other groups despite the Admin could POST, REPLY or EDIT any message neither via IE or FIREFOX (both latest versions - and normally FF works)

+ The annoying IMG Problem occured again

Okey, we said lets update to 4.1.5....Nada - Nothing changed !!!!!!

Like crazy desperates, while my programmer tried to solve it himself, we searched the whole VB forums for any suggestion how to solve this Problem, just to realize we are not the only ones who get not any help, idea how to solve this problem !!!!

I PAID FOR THIS VB LICENCES for both, my first VB 3 and then VB 4 Version, just to go crazy finally with the VB 4.1.4 and its shitty CK Editor. So cant I expect a error free, working Forum ?

There is normally 2 Years garanty on products you buy for example a camera, mobile, car....!

Dear VBulletin coders, please do us all a favour, kill this CK Editor BECAUSE IT DOESNT WORK PROPERLY, CLASHING WITH PLUGINS and so on....!

As long as you dont get it properly working, dont offer it to us !

I am tired, thanks to be sleapless pissed off and have a bad headache just because of this idiotic CK Editor and the BIG problems it caused.

And let me tell you one thing, my programmer is one of the BEST yo can ever met.
He Fixed so many problems with VB we had I couldnt find any solutions on any VB forumn or a few VB coders I asked.

But even he couldnt fix this CKEditor problem this time for us. Not a single member can post anything. Normally a case for shut down a forum , as it does no work.

We decided to DOWNGRAD back to 4.0.3

Which means a lot of work, and let me ask how to - or to what to update in the future as long as the CK Editor exists in the upper versions !?

I hope this message will not ban me from VB.org - But someone has to say whats going on!

This message should initiate a quick fixing of the CKEditor and IE problem VB 4.1.4 and 5 has ASAP !

For the next 6 month I will stay away from any update and due to this my licence to update will expire also....This is not nice, but I wont say anything anymore

Are you sure you followed ALL the steps to upgrade your vBulletin version? I did the same thing, and all I had to fix was some minor problems with the editor's images not showing (fixed by uploading sprite.png back to the theme's /editor folder). And a couple CSS problems I dealt with.

Apart from that, I'm having no problems at all.

No, I second the OP - the new CK editor has broken a slew of plugins that would parse input (i.e. auto-embedding links for video or wiki URLs).

The new CKEditor is crap, for that reason alone - it also has some massive formatting compatibilities when you are posting from an iPad, for example (but that's okay, for the vB devs, the iOS devices are obviously a rarely used niche product - in whatever odd world they live in)

AME-3 no longer detects embedded video links and embeds them. vaultWIKI no longer appears to be auto-parsing and auto linking.
