Maybe the Lightweight is what you need? (originally designed for low bandwith and mobile devices)

Almost no images, buttons are links, avatars aren't visible, neither are other profile modifikations like stars, reputation and so on.

And you can change the theme pretty fast to black and white via the *.css file.
